THE ERBIUM LASER
(Decay Removing Laser)

Fast, efficient removal of decayed and diseased tooth structure. There is no contact with the actual tooth so there is no uncomfortable grinding sensation. In many cases, there is no need for an injection or the use of drills.

At the site of ablation, a sterile seal is created thus protecting the nerve of the tooth. This also reduces the possibility of post-operative sensitivity. Bonding of the filling material is also much better.

At this stage, lasers cannot be used to remove existing amalgam filling but all the benefits mentioned can still be achieved by sterilizing the tooth with the laser after the amalgam filling has been removed.
