Dr Johnson is married and has 3 children. His eldest son has finished his post graduate law course and is now based in Zurich with a senior management position at FIFA, his daughter is currently working for a law firm in Brisbane, and his youngest son is a member of the police force.
Dr Rui Gao
Rui (Ree) has wanted to be a dentist for as long as she remembers. In 2006 she graduated as a dentist at the University of Queensland. With over 10 years of experience, Rui is a caring, dedicated and compassionate dentist. She doesn’t believe anything is complicated; there is always a simple solution.
Rui enjoys all aspects of dentistry, particularly restorative and cosmetic dentistry. With the knowledge that poor oral health can affect a person’s general health, preventative dentistry is an integral part of her practice; we all know the old saying ‘prevention is better than cure’.
Having a husband that snores and 2 young children, Rui’s goal for the future is furthering her education on sleep medicine and children’s dentistry and airway health. She is currently working on obtaining her LA&HA Masters in Laser Dentistry.
When she is not a dentist, Rui is running around after her 3 year old son and 1 year old daughter. Being a mother is definitely harder than a being a dentist.
Rui speaks Mandarin and is laser accredited.
Dr Ann Schindel
Ann qualified as a dentist from University College Cork in Ireland in 1997. From there, she gained valuable experience working in private practice in the UK for ten years.
After marrying her Australian husband, she moved to Brisbane in 2008.
Since then, Ann has worked in a private practice in Wynnum, enjoying getting to know her patients and helping them feel more comfortable with dental treatments.
She strongly believes in treating her patients as she would like to be treated. Ann is very thorough and likes to spend time explaining treatment options to her patients so that they can make informed choices on their oral health.
Outside of work, Ann likes spending time with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys taking walks and baking (Her girls are her taste testers!)
Ann is delighted to join Rui, Garry and the team at Brisbane General and Laser Dentists.
