General treatments that our dental Coorparoo team provide

At Brisbane Laser Dentist, there are a number of routine treatments that we frequently provide, which typically fall under the banner of ‘general dentistry’. This is a group of treatments that we perform on a regular basis, and we are very skilled at doing so. If you ever need any of these treatments, then our professional team will be just a phone call away to arrange an appointment with you.

White fillings

The first general dental Coorparoo treatment that we provide to our patients is the aesthetically-pleasing white filling. Fillings are typically used to fill the inner part of your teeth if you’ve had to have part of them removed or they have decayed. They are used to maintain your tooth’s strength, as it would quickly weaken if the inner tooth was left exposed. Metal fillings are commonly used for this, but they are visible to other people when you open your mouth. White fillings are great if you want to maintain a more natural look, as they are made out of porcelain.

Dental crowns

The next dental Coorparoo treatment that we commonly provide at the practice are dental crowns. We use these to cover a tooth that has been damaged, one that contains a large filling or has been weakened by decay. Crowns are great for both aesthetic and oral health reasons. They are handy if you want to cover up a discoloured filling, and will also protect the tooth underneath.

Root canal

Root canal treatment is something else we regularly perform on our dental Coorparoo patients. We provide this to our patients when they have a build up of bacteria in the tooth that has caused infection. We will remove the inner part of the tooth to expose the pulp, and will do a deep clean of the whole area to rid it of bacteria. We will then fill in the rest of your tooth afterwards with a filling as mentioned above.

Tooth extractions

There are many reasons why you may need us to extract your tooth, but whatever it is, we will make sure it is done swiftly and professionally. Tooth extractions are typically needed if you have cracked or broken your tooth or if the tooth is severely damaged from infection. We will always make sure to tell you the options available for replacing the tooth in future if you want to, such as a dental implant.

Chipped teeth

Chipped teeth are also something that we commonly treat here at our surgery. Accidents happen, we understand that, and will do everything we can to save your natural tooth. If you leave a chipped tooth untreated, it can be at risk of becoming damaged further by bacteria entering the crack, so you should contact us as soon as possible after the crack happens.

There are a few different treatment options when it comes to fixing a cracked tooth, and which one we give you will depend on the severity of the damage. We may use two of the treatments mentioned above, fillings and crowns, as they are both good methods of restoring your natural teeth. We may also provide you with a veneer to cover the crack to help maintain a natural look.
